Last weekend at the lake

This past Sunday we went to John Martin Reservoir which is about 1 1/2 hours from here in Colorado. Who would think that you could be on a lake, the last weekend in September, in Colorado?!?! It was a beautiful day though. The water was a little chilly, so we didn't do any skiing or anything. We just wanted to spend a day outdoors with the boys. We brought several buckets with us and just kept filling those up with water, and the boys had a blast. The water was cold, but they would dump it on themselves and had no problem with it!!! It was a wonderful day, so now we shall put the boat away for the winter and await next year!!

Things are going good here. The boys are understanding more and more each day. The biggest thing we have been doing lately is making the transition to one nap a day. Usually about ten each morning, they get fussy, but if I entertain them, they can get past it. Then I feed them lunch around 11 or 11:30 and then usually a nap around noon. They are slowly getting used to the changes. Some days are better- they sleep longer and are in a better mood, but some days aren't as easy. Hopefully as they get more adapted to this new schedule, they will start sleeping better and longer.

We are going to try and go to a pumpkin patch this weekend, so hopefully I will have more pictures. And then we are off on a trip. We are headed to Will's parents' ranch in Oklahoma to work cattle and see everyone again. Then, Will's work permitting, we are heading to Abilene for a couple days to visit my aunt and uncle who will be visiting from Canada. So, I think that covers everything!! Till next time...

The cold water doesn't bother Tyler!!

Whatcha doin Dad??

I don't know what Tyler was trying to do. Looks like he's thinking about taking a drink. They love to drink from cups, but they are pretty messy, because they like to do it themselves, and they just tilt the cup all the way up and drown themselves in whatever they are drinking!!! If they let us help them they do fine. They were able to drink from a cup since around 10 months.

Tyler has become so thoughtful lately. When he goes to grab their cups from the refrigerator, he always grabs both of them and then finds Austin to hand it to him. He will find pacis and hand one to Austin. His latest thing is feeding Austin. We were feeding the boys fruit, and Tyler would grab one and eat it and then want another and would turn around and feed it to Austin. So cute!!! Today he brought Austin his blankie for his nap. He is always thinking of Austin. Not that Austin isn't thoughtful as well, but Tyler has really exploded in this area.

Julia, your boys are so adorable! It's so cute seeing them walk around and play so well together. I imagine they're quite the handful, but what a beautiful handful to have!!!
